Reading Slides

The easiest way to read slide content is to arrow through the Filmstrip. As you move to a new slide, all the accessible slide content will be read aloud.

For more control, move to the Canvas area and use Tab to move through elements. For even more detail, press Enter on a text box to navigate the text closely.

Presenting Slides

Once your slides are prepped, you can present them in Slideshow view. Press Ctrl + F5 to start from the current slide. To start from the beginning, press Ctrl + Shift + F5. Use the Tab key to move between elements, and the up and down arrows to move between slides.

Presenting from Google Slides can be tricky because elements are converted into images in Slideshow view, making it harder for a screen reader to read content. Freedom Scientific recommends downloading your file as a PowerPoint and presenting from PowerPoint for better accessibility.
